Green is one of the four bugs who moved to Bugaria, with a passion for music and the tinest bit of a show-off.

Appearance

Green is a grasshopper in his teens, with colors similar to that of the American Bird Grasshopper (schistocerca americana). Specifically, he has bright green colors with brown and black accents. His antennae bend at the top. As a locust, his antennae start to bend downward and get twisted. He also has a habit of keeping his mandibles untucked as a locust.

Personality

Green is an energetic grasshopper, and at his core he cares greatly about his friends and relies on praise and validation. His biggest passion is music, both in listening and creating, as well as singing. Despite this, he is very quick to pick up on many skills due to fixating, but none ever stick around with the exception of his love for music. He is also extremely competitive, often winning playful competitions and being a sore winner because of it.

As a locust, his need for his friends and praise becomes a complete obsession. This obsession quickly results in him sabotaging his own relationships and his health as he prioritizes feeling loved above all else, even essential self-care and his friends.

History

The Fourth Hollow

Green, like with the Color Gang, originally lived outside of Bugaria. However, Deadlands wandering in and causing massive damage became increasingly more common, and so they decided to leave for Bugaria. Not wanting to take the caravan in risk of getting their things stolen, they took the route for the Giant's Lair. Red and Yellow ended up going off-route, resulting in them being caught by Alan. At first he was hostile, but after some convincing from Second, he let them go.

Bounty: False Monarch

Afterwards, the group bounced between different requests, and eventually Green and Blue decided to take on a bounty together as a challenge. This led them to meet Purple, and while Purple was defensive, they quickly realized that Purple was different from the typical bounties and wasn't even hostile. Purple ended up asking for a favor, which was to get rid of a Primal Weevil that was a threat to their colony. In the middle of the battle, Purple ended up fleeing, which resulted in Green and Blue almost losing, before their friends caught up and helped them. Green couldn't forgive Purple after, and decided to just avoid their colony all together.

Can't Fight Forever

On the way home from a request, the group got attacked by a hologram of a feral tick. It wasn't just a hologram of a tick, as it had the ability to corrode whatever it bit. It overwhelmed them all, and before it could corrode them, Chosen intervened and got rid of it. After saving their lives, he left without even acknowledging them, and with their curiosity piqued, they followed the wasp. This was a bad decision, as it only led them into an intense battle between the Dark Lord, and the Chosen One.

Eventually the group ended up caught in the crossfire, and were used by Dark to make a point, resulting in each one of them being killed. Green was the second to go, after rushing Dark after watching him kill Red. Green ended up waking alongside all of his friends, after Second had brought them back to life after their sorcery awakening. Afterwards, they went back to Alan to unwind.

The Colosseum

The avoidance with Purple eventually caught up with Green though, as when the group was testing out the Colosseum in the Termite Kingdom, Purple hijacked the final battle in a fit of revenge. Blue and Green defeated him, but the inital anger faded when Purple ran off before the guards could catch him. Worried, Green and the others went after them, and managed to sneak them out of the Termite Kingdom and talked it over.

Curiousity Kills the Cad - Protect the Deadlands

However they didn't to relax for long after, with Yellow getting possessed, Blue running into the swamp, and a reunion with Purple that quickly turned sour after they stole Yellow's key half. When chasing Purple, the group ended up separating, with Second and Red falling through the Giant's Lair's floorboards, and Yellow and Blue being driven off by a Deadlander Beta. Green kept chasing Purple, and right before he could stop them, they got saved by King. Green got trapped by King, and Purple left without a word or a glance.

Green managed to escape, and was greeted by his friends who have caught up, now with allies. Second brought the Warden, Red brought some partially awakened bugs, Blue and Yellow brought the Ravager, as well as the Ancient Mask and Ancient Tablet. With the reinforcements, the group could overwhelm Purple and King. However, while King could hold his own with the weapon, Purple could not. When King refused to help, Purple ran, and Green chased, angry, but also refusing to let Purple run into the Deadlands alone.

Predictably, Green spotted an Omega's light-- one he did not recognize-- so he tackled Purple into cover and safety. Purple fought, but eventually Green convinced him to just talk instead of running, and reluctantly the mothfly began explaining through drawings in the dirt. While Purple explained, Green understood, and he couldn't find himself to be angry at Purple anymore. It was mostly just sympathy, and despite the frustration, he never hated Purple. After comforting them, the Juvie had left, and Purple had decided in helping taking down King.

They came back to the fight, Purple joining in, even Herobrine coming in upon realizing his students were in danger, it still wasn't enough. King had defeated and knocked out everyone with the exception of the Color Gang and Purple, and with no other option, Purple decided to rush him. Green tried telling him not to, but Purple went for it, and got badly injured as a result. It did force King to rethink his actions, and he gave up. Afterwards, the Deadlands and their home was safe, and they could finally rest.

Defending a Beast

It wasn't for long. Dark Lord had come back, and instead of hostility, he seemed frantic. Everyone was still afraid of him, but they went with it, and Dark explained that Victim had done something to Chosen and he was going to bring the fight here. He seemed interested in Second, and nobody wanted to let him near them, but they didn't get long to bicker before the fight started. Green helped his friends fight off the mercenaries, and eventually Dark had freed Chosen, but the fight only stopped when Victim drew the attention of the Juvie.

The Juvie grabbed Victim, and Alan defended him, forcing everyone but the Color Gang to flee, and while Alan was older and stronger, he was still injured. He lost the fight, and the others got to watch as he died, unable to do anything but silently hide and wait for the Juvie to get bored and leave. After it did, Green watched as Second desperately tried to revive Alan. He pulled him off, not wanting to see his friend exhaust himself, before Yellow came back with the gem Victim had used to brainwash Chosen. Yellow had recognized it, and said it could also be used to boost sorcery. With it, Second successfully revived Alan, and after plenty of time of recovery, they were able to take a breather.

A Creature of Obsession

After the chaos, Green decided to unwind by getting back into his music hobby. He found the Ant Kingdom's Theatre was accepting shows, and deciding to go for it, Green applied for a concert and got accepted. Esctatic to finally have a moment to shine with his passion, he began setting up the concert. It was a test of all his skills, and he was excited to finally rope his friends into his passion that wasn't just a competition. After the rehearsals, he was confident it was going to be perfect.

It didn't go too well. All it took was one feral mothfly colony led by a curious Silver, and it fell apart. Green was stubborn and desperate for this to go well, so when his friends didn't help him because they found it more entertaining, it stuck with him. He failed to get rid of the colony, humiliated himself in front of the theater, and he couldn't help but lash out at his friends. He thought they would help him, and while they apologized, he didn't feel any better. He shrugged it off, though, he didn't want to ruin his friendships over something so small.

A while after, while resupplying in the Ant Kingdom, Green found and bought a BHS camera. It was the latest technology from the Bee Kingdom, being the closest to a hologram being released to the public. It could record moving pictures, and Green was fascinated with it. He recorded a few videos with his friends, and they were all greatly enjoying goofing off with the camera, and eventually Red suggested bringing it to the Cave of Trials to watch, since it was so difficult to see on the camera's screen. While a little confused to whether it would work, they tried it anyway.

While it worked at first, the tape quickly corrupted and resulted in Green Screen. After some confusion, Green Screen mistakenly attacked, and they remembered what hologrames in this cave are supposed to do. They fought the hologram and defeated it, and on the way out, a maitenance worker stopped Green and explained that they'd seen a lot of stuff in the Cave, but nothing like that. They also reccomended recording and posting more stuff like that on the Terminet, even explaining that they could from the Ant Kingdom library.

Green followed that advice, and the others agreed since it would archive the memories, and the tapes they had taken quickly grew popular. The next time they checked the library computers to test out the crappy editing software they had, the videos had blown up, and Green quickly grew obsessed with the new likes and validation. It felt like everything he wanted the concert to be. It didn't help that Green Screen was in the computer, learning off of Green's behavior.

Green during the Influencer Arc

After constant trips to the Library grew tedious, Green simply rented a laptop from the Library, so he could edit, post, and check notifications constantly. He started obsessing over the smaller details on the videos, changing them to what his friends found fun, to what his "fans" suggested. Green Screen also kept lingering in Green's electronics, constantly pulling him back to his videos and enabling the unhealthy behavior. This irritated his friends, and when they expressed concern, he shrugged it off. To him it was just another source of love, one that he felt he lacked.

Things eventually reached the boiling point when Green invited them for a picnic in the Golden Settlement. To Green, it was just a prank. They pranked eachother all the time, and pranks sometime resulted in injury. It happens. The prank was dropping his friends in a pit of bramble and thorns, and it ended with Second punching him in the face, and everyone kicking him out for the time being. Green lashed out, because it was just a prank, but of course when he's the one pulling it, it isn't funny anymore. They didn't listen.

This caused Green to isolate more, and cut off from his friends, his one dependency on that love he needed was only from online. His obsession became an addiction, and he began ignoring meals and self-care just to focus on posting more. With nobody to pull him away and remind him to take breaks, it only got worse. It even got to the point the closest he had to a meal was participating in the "Poison Challenge," a challenge where bugs would eat every poison item they could stomach without the aid of medals.

Green got through every item, when most couldn't get past two. Not because he wanted to, but because he had to. He couldn't risk losing his fans when they were all he had left, but also because he couldn't stop himself from eating. Nothing felt filling, and just when he thought he could stop, he'd vomit it up, and continue because he couldn't stand the hunger. To himself, it was just a bad day, but others could see it for what it was: extremely glaring signs that he was shifting to a locust.

Green ended up trying to apologize to his friends. It was a brief moment of clarity, and another symptom of becoming a locust: clinginess. He waited in the Giant's Lair for multiple hours and multiple days, but they never came back. With the inability to think rationally, Green thought they fully abandoned him and hated him, so he went back to his videos and GS. Mistaking the audience's concern for hatred, he got obessed with making the next video perfect so they couldn't leave.

It brought him back to the Cave of Trials. It brought him right back to the physical form Green Screen, who aided him in creating a battle that would truly be one-of-a-kind. It corrupted the holograms, and created a horrible amalgamation of spy data for him to fight. Green couldn't win. He was too burnt out and starved to do anything, and it was a stroke of luck his friends came for him, and they started chipping away at the Amalgamation while getting Green out of danger.

They failed to read the severity of the situation. Taking Green's whining about hunger and pleading for them to stay when they had to fight, as simple lack of care and head injury, they ignored it so they could focus on keeping him safe. Green Screen had lost its paitence with them and fused with the Amalgamation, rendering it unbeatable, and eventually it started screaming at them.

And Green recognized its words as his own; every single horrible thought he had about his friends in his tantrum, it was repeating. He wasn't ready for that confrontation, and it ignored his begging for it to stop, and as he begged, his body finally found that final push. That final trigger set in his brain, he rushed at the Amalgamation with his spider silk left behind. He bit at it, trying as hard as he could to tear at it with his mandibles, but he couldn't taste food. There was nothing but static electricity.

Finally a locust made out of his own obsession and desperation, he turned to his friends and started attacking them. He didn't mean to, but he couldn't think or act clearly. All he knew was that he needed their comfort over anything else, and as soon as he got close, the hunger became overwhelming and he couldn't help but try and bite. Nobody was willing to let him get close, knowing he'd never forgive himself if he did hurt them, so they sent Second to go grab King for aid. Seeing someone leaving only sent Green into a panic, resulting in him shrieking and paralyzing them all.

And with them unable to move, nothing could stop him from getting close, until Green Screen finally stepped in and restrained him long enough for the paralysis to wear off. Second left, and the others worked on restraining Green. Using his spider silk to effectively muzzle him and keep him to the ground, they waited until King had come back, with both Ochre and Purple, and with Ochre's help, they were able to properly knock him out without much damage. Afterwards, they brought him to a hospital so it could be reverted over time.
